Eva is trained as a dancer and lives life as an
athlete. While earning her MFA from the University
of Utah, she developed a passion for kinesiology
and the conditioning process toward excellent
performance. Eventually this led her to the study
of and certification in the Pilates Method. Eva
finished her training at The Pilates Center in
Boulder, Colorado in 1997 and has been developing
her teaching skills ever since. She opened
Streamline Bodyworks in 2000 where she directs
operations, teaches classes and sessions, and
serves as a mentor to new teachers. Eva continues
to be a firm believer in Pilates as it enables us
to coordinate mindful intention to a strong and
supple body; this is the balance we need to
maintain and enjoy our busy lives.
Lise Fischer
Lise completed her teaching certification at the
Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado in 1998 and has
taught with Eva Kauffman at Streamline since then.
She has a Masters in Historic Preservation and Urban
Planning from Columbia University and worked in that
field for twenty years. For Lise Pilates highlights
many skills that Lise reveres—natural movement,
balance, focus, internal awareness, athleticism and
empowerment through self-knowledge. In addition to
being a life-long learner, Lise continues to be
inspired to teach, facilitate, and enhance these
principles in others. With Eva, Lise founded the
Streamline Pilates Teacher Training and
Certification Program where she mentors new
teachers.
Maya Christopherson
Maya has been teaching at Streamline since 2005 when
she earned her certification from The Pilates Center
in Boulder, Colorado. She also has a MFA in
Music/Piano Performance from the University of Utah;
she is a nationally certified teacher of music and
maintains a small piano studio in her home. Maya
spends much of her time teaching and enjoying her
clients and continues to be intrigued by the many
deep layers of the Pilates Method. Everyone should
try it!
Tarynn Richards
Tarynn graduated from the University of Utah with a
degree in Exercise and Sport Science. She is also a
graduate of The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado.
Tarynn has been practicing Pilates since 1998 and
teaching at Streamline since 2005. Because of its
challenging nature and a wide range of exercises,
Tarynn never tires of practicing Pilates. She has a
passion for the study of anatomy and loves to
instill body awareness and control in her clients.
She feels Pilates is essential for keeping the body
strong and flexible; this enables easeful movement
throughout life. Tarynn juggles her love for
teaching with her other job, mother of three.
Julia Maeser
While a student at Brigham Young University Julia
was introduced to Pilates and discovered that she
has scoliosis. Practicing a diligent Pilates regimen
she minimized the discomfort and noticed a positive
and marked change in her spine and posture. These
significant changes inspired and motivated her to
pursue a certification; she graduated from the
teacher-training program at Streamline in 2009.
Julia loves to study movement and is amazed by the
vision and deep understanding about the human mind,
body and soul that Joseph Pilates had 100 years ago.
She enjoys working with her clients and facilitating
changes toward health and happiness.
Rosemary Woolley
For Rosemary teaching Pilates is a journey with no
end. She says, "I learn something new with each day
that I am involved with Pilates." In 2009 Rosemary
graduated with the first class of the Streamline
Teacher Training Program. Now she teaches in the
Streamline studio where she is surrounded by so many
exceptional instructors and dedicated clients.
Rosemary is a firm believer that everyone can
benefit from the Pilates Method. It is an honor for
Rosemary to share her enthusiasm for Pilates with
others, in particular the seniors for whom she
volunteer teaches weekly. In this older population
she sees amazing results including improved core
strength, mobility and vitality.
Amanda Normand
Physical fitness is a life necessity for Amanda. She
started practicing Pilates 13 Years ago striving for
Joseph Pilates’ ideal of uniform development. Also
being a lover of martial arts and a long time
practitioner of Kung Fu, Pilates has helped Amanda
develop strength with a stronger mind-to-body
connection. Pilates supports her love for being
active outdoors, and it helps her be a stronger
athlete. She earned her Pilates teaching certificate
from the Streamline Teacher Training Program here in
2011 and currently teaches here. Amanda loves
teaching Pilates and believes everyone can benefit
from regular training; it gives her great
satisfaction to she see her clients gain strength,
mobility, and mind-to-body control.
Brenda Butcher
Brenda received her BFA in Dance from the University
of Utah and has bee a Dance/Pilates adjunct faculty
member at Salt Lake Community College since 2005. In
2001 Brenda earned her comprehensive Pilates
certification from Streamline, teaches in the studio
there and is a member of the Pilates Method
Alliance. Currently she is working toward being a
Balanced Body Master Teacher. Teaching Pilates
Brenda loves that she helps people develop body
awareness and move more efficiently in their daily
lives. Personally, Pilates gives her strength to
participate in her favorite activities and gives her
confidence to attempt new hobbies and adventures.
Jenica Love
Jenica has been a client at Streamline for over 7
years, always enjoying her Pilates practice, and
recently took the plunge to become a certified
instructor. Jenica completes her Pilates
certification with the Streamline Teacher Training
Program early in 2012. Since going thru the training
program she has a renewed love and respect for
Pilates; she sees how a quality practice reaps
benefits like improved posture, better circulation,
and greater strength and flexibility that will
affect your everyday life. Currently she is an
apprentice instructor in the studio.
Monica Bentrude
After graduating with a BFA in Dance from the University Of Utah, Monica gravitated to the fitness industry where she has enjoyed teaching various exercise trends for over 30 years. Deciding to deepen her Pilates knowledge, Monica came to Streamline in 2010 and discovered the teacher training program led by Eva Kauffman and Lise Fischer; this was the Pilates education she longed for. By completing the Streamline Teacher Training Program in 2012, Monica has opened a door to a richer world of movement for her and her clients. She is a life long lover of Pilates; nothing compares to physical and mental strength, flexibility and balance. Monica enthusiastically shares with her clients, "If you do Pilates regularly, you will be strong and injury-free. You will enjoy all other forms of exercise and activities you do whether it is skiing, cycling, playing basketball, football, riding horses, tennis, gardening or rock climbing. Pilates helps you do all your sports better and safer. You stand taller and feel better about YOU!"
Mary Coursey
Mary Johnston-Coursey began her study of yoga in
1980, studying first Astanga, then Iyengar yoga.
Mary's classes reflect the fluidity of Astanga and
the precise alignment of Iyengar; she combines
this
with deeply focused breath work. Mary's background
in dance contributes to her intimate understanding
of energy and its expression through the body. In
all of her work, Mary dedicates herself to find
connections between a physical and spiritual
practice. As a result, her twenty-five years of
teaching continues to evolve. Streamline is
fortunate to have Mary teaching a Hatha yoga class
at Streamline.
Paula Child
Paula is a certified iRest Yoga Nidra teacher and
continues advanced studies with Richard Miller,
founding president of Integrative Restoration
Institute and Joan Ruvinsky of Pathless Yoga. She
is registered with Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour
level and her principle asana teachers are Scott
Blossom (Shadow Yoga) and Rod Stryker (ParaYoga).
Paula moved back to Salt Lake City in 2012 after
living in San Francisco for 7 years. While living
in San Francisco she taught weekly Restorative &
iRest Yoga Nidra classes to recovering cancer
patients through the California Cancer Center. At
San Bruno County Jail she taught iRest Yoga Nidra
to incarcerated veterans convicted of violent
offenses with substance abuse issues. She also
taught iRest Yoga Nidra to homeless people at
Shelter Network. She enjoys teaching iRest Yoga
Nidra group and individual sessions as well as
dyads in private practice. As a passionate
teacher, along with her joyful spirit she
supports students in their journey to awaken to
their Timeless Presence.
